Maybe dead internet. But they can't survive this. Reddit is already kinda useless. You need rage bait and outrage porn to engage people on the internet enough to keep advertisers happy and get enough engagement so that you can mine data and train AI with posts.

They are supposedly going to make it so you can curate your feed better though. I gave up on Reddit because I could not get it to stop giving me rage bait posts. YouTube has the ability to just block them but Reddit doesn't let you do that. I know why it's better for engagement and that's all they care about.

That's the fundamental problem in the internet even more so than AI sloppification. It is heavily optimized to make you angry and keep you angry because that's what keeps you glued to the screen the longest.

Nothing is being traded. There are no physical goods and there is no ownership of any company or products. These are gamblers. I hate that our news media is completely owned by these psychopaths

You're buying something of value and you might be underestimating or overestimating the value of that thing but you're still getting the thing. Specifically you are buying ownership in a company.

That's not gambling. You don't get paid based on the outcome. You get paid based on the relative value of the company.

Now if that system isn't working very well for you no shit, we have been deregulating markets for the last 50 years what the fuck did you expect? But that's not a problem with the underlining system that's you refusing to do the maintenance the system needs to function properly. If you stop changing your car is oil it's going to break down.

Gambling is when you are paid based entirely on whether a predetermined outcome happens or not. That is definitely what gambling is. You do not own anything. So you only get paid if the event happens. And there is a specific event that has to happen for you to be paid. That is gambling.

I think the real problem is about 25% of the population of any given country or dyed in the wool assholes.

If they catch the guys who did this then yeah we will know but if they haven't caught these guys in a few months then it's either North Korea or one of the other nation states or it's just money laundering. Honestly the money laundering could easily involve nation states like Russia or Iran or North Korea.

You go to the right schools and you meet the right people and you get to pretty much do whatever you want. And you get into the schools because your parents get you there and their parents got them there.

There are studies that clearly indicate that factory automation is responsible for approximately 70% of the Lost middle class jobs since the 1980s.

We have been automating away high paying jobs as fast as we can for decades and AI is just another extension of that.

As for why Democrats are the solution you're not Americans so you wouldn't understand this but we have winner-take-all first past the post voting and we don't have any kind of parliamentary system.

This means we inevitably get two parties because any attempt of the third party just pulls votes away from one of the other two and results in single party rule.

To fix this we would have to overhaul our entire voting and political system but that's easier said than done.

So we have a choice between the Republican party who are openly fascists and getting real comfy with actual Nazis not just the dog whistle kind or our conservative party which is the Democrats.

Remember fascists aren't conservative and the Republican party in America is not a conservative party. They are radical extremists because they will do whatever it takes to get what they want. That leaves the Democrat party as the de facto conservative party in America

It's the only thing holding up the stock market. Frankly I don't want it to burst because when the stock market collapses they're going to take it out of my hide and yours like they always do. If we want to survive that we need a democrat in the White House and Democrats in charge of Congress when it happens and frankly I think we all know that but we'll be damned if we're going to let those highfalutin Washington insiders tell us what to do right?

Also the AI bubble in America is being used to loot our 401ks so we've got a ways to go before it pops. There is 10 trillion dollars there ripe for the taking and the Epstein class will be damned if they let you have it just because it's yours.

I don't know about multiplan but word was terrible up through around 97 when it became just barely usable. It wasn't anything I would actually want to use until sometime around 2004 or 2006...

I mentioned it on another comment but Microsoft CEO admitted that they are only expecting 3 to 5% to take the buy out which is about 2 to 3,000 employees. This is cover for firing those 3,000 employees who will be exclusively older employees. In other words it's run of the middle age discrimination. There might be some H1B swaps in there too.

We put in Orange pedophile in charge of the country. Bad things are going to happen and we've got at least two more years of it. After that we need 12 to 16 years of blue rule to clean up this mess and we aren't going to get it...

I found some articles where the CEO talks about the percentage of people he expects to take the deal and it's only 3 to 5%. With 60,000 people even at the top of the range that's only 3000.

That is still significant layoffs clearly indicating we are in a recession. But it's not the insanity of laying off a quarter of your staff.

So what they're doing is they are targeting older employees but they know they're going to get sued and they've been sued several times for targeting older employees and lost. They are hoping the triple whammy of announcing 60,000 offers combined with AI combined with the fact that frankly we are in a recession and you can prove that in court provided you take out the AI spending and that those three things combined will prevent them from getting hit with another judgment for age discrimination.

There is probably also some insourcing and outsourcing going on. Microsoft has been caught multiple times firing American employees and hiring h-1bs.
