I wonder how this all compares with how things were before the Google and Apple duopoly. Reading through the description, I had some flashbacks of the hoops app developers needed to jump through.

There's a sniff of, embrace, extend, extinguish...

Is "X" the same as "X11", or "X Windows"?

This was my thought too. Why did someone mark it troll?

I'd be interested in the examples of "China lies". People just run it off like it's accepted.

Note that, to be a lie, it has to be deliberately wrong, not just wrong and/or ignorance. It can be quite difficult to prove intent. Even so, something to argue against, or even agree with, would be reasonable.

Try asking it what day it is today, or tomorrow...

I use qwen frequently, and that is the thing it gets wrong most often (AFAIK), or similar, like when it says, next Monday, the 29th...ie can't even check its dates on a calendar ðY

Of course, like the western AIs, qwen also doesn't work in mainland China - not supported. It has a m/l specific version, of course, but, for me, at least, I wanted one that works everywhere.

Maybe I'll test Kimi on this...but I guess this whole AI technology is segregated. Sigh.

Reference required for...all of above...

It sounds a lot like a load of BS to me, and, at best "pot calling the kettle black"...though I don't know who the pot is in this case, so shrug. Just the ramblings of a brainwashed sinophobe, maybe.

Do you have the code for the compiler, and compile that yourself too?...and ditto for THAT compiler? All the way down...

> have not consented to being recorded, which is a legal requirement in 11 US states that have all-party consent laws.

Do we all have to comply with the lowest common denominator? Perhaps some thinks it's the hugest, but it certainly doesn't have jurisdiction everywhere.

Maybe some kind location-based jurisdiction AI is in order.

The French will be on Britain's side this time and the Germans too, probably...albeit coincidentally.

Perhaps, "Now you know how it feels!" is more likely.

I bought the tivo competitor, ReplayTV, but it was killed because it automatically skipped ads...or something. It was a long time ago, but it was a great device.

This migration is not new. It's been happening for many years already.

KylinOS is not completely unrelated to Ubuntu Kylin...

Gong bao ji ding, don't you know ðYZ

You can't tell if entangled particles have been observed, or not?

It doesn't have to be. China doesn't much care if the USA is successful or not; only that China isn't held back, which seems to be the USA's MO of late.

Perhaps the USA and China can cooperate.

Lol, I know, I know. The USA is too proud/arrogant/ignorant for that.

Still, it would be nice to see.

There's nothing much to say that China won't share either. China is not the USA. The USA keeps looking in the mirror and thinking it is seeing China.
