After reading a few comments lately, I've noticed that several people like to point out that they aren't in the USA. Mostly, it's been fellow Canadians that I've noticed.

So where's everybody posting from? Any fellow whiney pagans?

But you already knew that... no JE's in the last while though since I've been Fringing, watching summer blockbusters & enjoying the weather while it's hot. The occasional lurk here and there makes me sleepy though.... mmm... sleepy time...

Yup, I knew that from your movie theatre prefs. You've probably dropped more clues, but I don't remember them.

I haven't done much fringing, although I am looking forward to Folklorama. And my mother's coming from Victoria in a couple of weeks, so I'll have to clean up the apartment some.

I also haven't done much movie-watching, because my wife's been out of town and I don't know anyone else to go with. That's the problem of not being a socialite - I don't meet people except through work, and I'm stuck

My cousin is part of the Pearl of the Orient pavilion. I'm not sure if we're going to be visiting many pavilions at all this year... we've watched them all and most don't really change. [plug]However it's a wonderful time to celebrate diversity and explore the many cultures our city has. :)[/plug]

My favorite pavilions are the Pearl of the Orient (biased though :) ), the Israel pavilion (you can tell who has the $ when you watch this one), Irish (Irish Stew is awesome there), Carribean & Afro-Carribe

This is my first time going to Folklorama. I managed to just miss it last year :( when I moved in from Victoria. As far as I'm aware, we never had anything similar there. Probably because it's not as culturally diverse as Winnipeg. I seem to recall a Ministry of Education official commenting that it was a very "white" area.

Wow. Well here's a tip since it's your first time around. If you haven't already signed up, sign up for a bus tour. People who are on bus tours get reserved seats, guaranteed eats, and get driven around (no parking!) :). Sure you may be with a lot of seniors, but it's a far more enjoyable experience.
