What exactly makes compiled code special? EXEs are compiled code. The term "run-only" is stupid. You have to be able to read the thing to run it, and the computer can read bytes just fine, so... where's the problem?

Because the burger is straight garbage. I don't understand the hype here, those things do not taste like real meat in the slightest. Texture isn't bad, but the flavor is just wrong.

I gave up on fighting against the astroturfers here a few years back... wasn't worth the effort and stress anymore. I can still get good discussion about topics that matter to me at reddit -- just need to stay away from some of the subreddits there.

Every once in a while I come check on Slashdot, and remember anew why I left. The place went to shit once the sockpuppet accounts got critical mass on mod points.

That's not what goodwill is at all. Goodwill is an asset on your books that arises from paying more for an acquisition than the valuation of that acquisition. It has nothing to do with how the public perceives a company.

For a company like Greyhound those would be considered fixed assets and would be depreciated according to a depreciation schedule.

FYI if the assets aren't in service they wouldn't be depreciated. Only once they are put in service is depreciation started.

Actually, as soon as we were notified of the issue, the plugin was closed and hidden on a temporary basis until we had time to evaluate the problem. Once we had done so, I personally created a new version of the plugin, without the malicious code, and pushed it to the repository in order to get the update out to the affected users. The existing committers were all removed, leaving the plugin entirely in the hands of the plugin team. The latest version is now safe and will not be otherwise until we determine the full details of what happened here.

Full disclosure is great, but some advance notice longer than a day or so helps a lot. We will always protect our users to the best of our ability, but sometimes, we get blind sided. It happens. Nobody posts about the dozens of other times we fix things before they get exploited. Not judging, just saying.

Google the names of senior executives at MTA and have conversations than slander their sexual habits, lack personal honesty, cruelty to animals and studying at a Bible University. Pepper your speech with copious profanity in multiple languages, making the task of humans who listen to this crap more onerous.
Feel free to have such conversations, even if you are alone, which at the least will get you a seat to yourself.

I ask you not to advocate any act of violence against anyone in this, but you can be creative. You and your (imaginary) friend can talk of how your coven of Devil Worshippers plan to put a curse on named senior execs at the bus company. ...or have loud conversations about how you're going to hold noisy messy protests outside the homes of named executives.

The poor sods who have to monitor this will have to pass the 'threats' up the management chain. Enough false positives will make them reconsider their approach.
