Journal andr0meda's Journal: Sunday 2

Woooh..

What a day.. my girlfriend picked me up this afternoon for a drive up to country of Walcheren in Zeeland (Sealand), which is part of The Netherlands. It`s actually know for it`s large Veerse Meer which is close by, and for the rough country and dunes behind the North Sea shores. We picknicked in the dunes, like guys and girls do in all fairytales.. she really had thought of everything, sandwiches, drinks, apples. She even had done a new experiment, a special tea made from ginger and cinnamon [ed:Thanks for the translation yuri] and squeezed oranges!! It`s absolutely delicious!! Then we took pretty pictures, we strolled the beach.. more beach.. even more beach.. untill we came at some wooden pillars sticking into the sea... after some *censored* and intense *censored*, and much to our surprise, we suddenly saw the tiny head of a seal right along the shoreline! I quickly zipped out the camera and tooka photo! Seals on our shores are very rare! The the sun started to come down, so we decided to walk back.. took some pictures of us in front of the sunset, and then we tried to find the spot where we had entered the beach.. euh... oops.. where was it.. not hre.. not there.. we tried some inroads, but each time we saw it was the wrong one, we turned back and moved further down.. after trying 4 of these inroads into the dunes and not recognising anything, we were like.. maybe we went too far? We hadn`t payed attention to the spot where we enterred at all! There were some boathouses and stuff on the beach but none of them looked familiar (to be honest I hadn`t even seen them when we started our walk). It was getting dark, so we decided to walk back the other way, and see if we didn`t go too far.. after trying another one, the situation got a bit more tense, so eventually we just cut ourselves a way through the dunes into what looked like an enourmous wasteland of small bushes and heaps of sand. Without really thinking about it, we went on and found a road! Yay! We hand`t seen people or road for hours! In the meantime it was dark and the moon was clearly lighting our path. At least we had some sight. Ok, so we followed the road. Untill we saw a fence. A closed fence. With barbwire on the sides and long spikey euh.. spikes on top of the fence. Hmm.. ok no problem, let`s crawl through the barbwire! Right! Our scouting history served us well, so no problems there.. hey.. what does this sign say? "Restricted Area. Sealand Protected Natural Reserve. No Access." Oops. Ok, but where the fuck are we!? Ok, we follow the road that leads away from the reserve, only to end up.. back on the beach! Fuck! So we walk back to the reserve, and follow the road in what looks like the wrong direction, but luckily the road turns and we end up in a village.. hmm.. cool.. we`re getting close!Since we hadn`t eaten anything and since it was running up to 10, we were only glad to have a little bite first. Then quicky back to the car and home!

Adventure, romance, seals, sunsets.. I think I`m dreaming..

I don't think many of your readers will know that you meant ginger and cinnamon.

Anyway, sounds like a really fun adventure. Last time I was back in the Netherlands I played ignorant and pretended not to know what "Geen toegang" means.

Reading your JE has made me want even more to take my wife to the Netherlands to meet my cousins and see the sights.
  • wicked to see someone so happy in love. nice scenery too...

Decaffeinated coffee? Just Say No.
