Long-time vegan here. I for one am looking forward to this technology taking off and plan to invest as opportunities arise. It will take some time to get the kinks worked out, but in the end I am confident this is a more sustainable solution that will "meat" a wide range of use cases.

Will I personally eat it? TBD. I guarantee, however, that I will buy lab-cultured pet food as soon as it's available. Some humans may turn their nose up at lab-grown meat, but our pets won't know the difference. And I fully anticipate there will be a point at which it becomes so cost-effective to produce meat in this manner it replaces lower grades of beef, fast food, hot dogs, nuggets, etc. The Moore's Law of Meat.

The hamsters are martyrs for a noble cause; billions upon billions of animals will not suffer as a result of their sacrifice.
