We sacrifice inessential liberties for safety all the time. We are required to get our cars registered and inspected (in some states), our buildings inspected, and our restaurants must conform to code. All of these things restrict our freedom, but also help to keep us safe and healthy.

We need to protect the rights of the majority from; a dodgey car running them over, a dodgey building collapsing on them, some dodgey food poisoning them. Those examples don't restrict any freedoms, they are about protecting them... (@_@)

Yep, I mean I'm in Australia so we are a bit behind seeing what's going on right now in the states, but a lot of the new work I have been picking up is with bigger clients who are now scared, wanting to reduce their budget and are therefore looking at smaller, independent development.
