The 'kids' that Nintendo are targeting are plenty sufficed with the 'deep' experience Temple Run gives them on their touchscreen, anywhere and everywhere. Nintendo have to realize that their target demographic are adults who grew up with Nintendo and want their children to dicover the joys too. This is what they are facing, the 'customers' they want have moved on.
Also, the Wii is cannibalizing those WiiU sales. They are in the same place Sony were in in 2005. Coming off the previous gen with a wildy successful console that's still on the market and still selling like hotcakes.
