The machine learning systems being trained on radiology scans are fundamentally different from LLMs. It gives a list of possible diagnoses with confidence percentages.
Mind you, that doesn't mean it can be trusted to replace a human, but these systems don't make stuff up the way LLMs do. It's closer to image categorization.
Did you actually check the box that makes your threads account visible to fedi? It's disabled by default.
You make it sound like it's exclusively fedi's fault, but Meta didn't care to normalize it either.
I think some of y'all are confused on this, this isn't about keeping AI from reporting bugs, it's about the absolute flood of horrific pull requests he keeps getting for "exploits" that shitty AI code tools claim exist but actually don't. PRs that actually break the code that it's claim it fixes, because the agents suck at real code analysis. They aren't even addressing recognized CVEs, they're just making shit up, and it wastes so much of his time.
Exactly, all I am hearing from this is that the workforce they already have is being pushed towards burnout as people leave and responsibilities continue to be heaped onto existing engineers.
It isn't unused, however. I worked for an HP server refurbishing company. There are still companies running assembly lines on fricken K class servers from the 1980s. I personally build several dozen N series PA-RISC servers that were going in as new installations. My first task when I started the job was assembling and loading an order of three dozen C series workstations that were already five years old.
All that hardware is running HP-UX and is still in use today.
I trust the people who lost their jobs more than I trust the CEO. This layoff included a shutdown of Amazon Games. Artists, developers and managers alike. I'm also seeing AWS staff who were cut, infrastructure engineers.
Either the CEO is lying, or he doesn't know what was actually cut.
I wasn't raised as a muslim. I wasn't forced to visit a mosque three times a week until I finally was able to move out at 25. I wasn't abused into believing I had to pretend to be someone I wasn't and suppress my entire personality so that Allah didn't condemn me. I don't have to listen to muslims in my government using their faith as justification for why I don't deserve human rights.
These are all things christians did to me. I have every right to mock them.
The only reason Halo Infinite didn't suck was because Joe Staten came back. Microsoft drove him back out again after they killed 343 Studios, so honestly... I'm okay with them spinning on remakes for a while until he's ready to take a chance again
Spoken like a man who has no clue just how much hands on maintenance goes into a datacenter.
Raise your hand if youâ(TM)ve ever had to driven across state lines to push a power button?
A lot of people donâ(TM)t notice it because itâ(TM)s not as flashy as hardware, but Apple started an arms race with Google over their Maps product. There has been a TON of innovation from both companies in that area, purely because they created competition that couldnâ(TM)t be bought out.
I have owned many pairs of headphones in my 45 years on this planet, and I can say with certainty that I have never needed to repair a set, aside from replacing worn out padding. Usually the reason I buy new ones is because something bad happens to them, like they go through the wash, or get stepped on.
