I was under the impression that Office products have historically never been in a more bug ridden state. How exactly is Rust making anything better in Office? I mean Rust 1.0 wasn't even released until 2015 which is 8 years after Microsoft Office peak of 2007 and everything since has been bug ridden crap

Is a lack of a parental filter. I'm not comfortable with their woke content nor do I feel it necessary for her to watch content with pre-teen homosexuality or transgender characters in much the same way that I, as a parent, wouldn't want the kids shows to be about r-rated sex scenes or about topics like abortion or birth defects. I'd just like a filter for age appropriate content which effectively requires disney to provide a filter to hide anything they've made for the past 15 years.

Finally these fuckwit web devs have to remove infinite scroll.
As a vocal proponent against Slashdot's change to infinite scrolling, I'm glad there is now a legal punishment

Time for the total fucking clowns at Microsoft to go home. We're going to need an antitrust case against every product and service at MS. Not our fault, this is squarely Microsoft acting irresponsibly. Office, windows, copilot, bing and Azure must be broken into individual companies

I am so thankful that all of the people recommending these kinds of products will very soon be unemployed or returning to their day jobs after the backlash of these offensively bad 'geek' products predictably backfire on the businesses selling and promoting them.

"It's kind of funny people think about the console and PC as two different things," Nadella said

Cool, cool, and hes the techbro after all, but can he explain why XBOX lives within a closed eco system unlike the PC which is built upon the premise of an open system? Because, it seems to be, that Satya Nadella doesn't have the first fucking clue what hes talking about on this. XBOX is just as much a PC as an iPhone is a PC.

That Americans use such a backwards format for television. It would be great if they could catch up by about 45 years with the rest of the world and get 30FPS as standard.

Hey, Microsoft have already published that they are deprecating .NET in favour of HTML5 in Windows. Who cares if they use AI to do it.

Its no mistake that everyone has to read between the lines because Microsoft is the least trustworthy IT company in the history of man..... sorry, I just got interrupted by an advertisement asking me to purchase a Microsoft subscription so it can help me finish writing this sentence. Where was I? Oh yes.....kind

This is the dumbest article I've ever seen. "Lets pick the shittiest form of music storage and explain why its not shit". No, tapes suck, nearly any other music format is better - yes, even 8-track - as everyone here has already attested.

I mean, it's hard to exfiltrate data via copy paste on an air gapped network.

and I'm going to try to forget what I know when I say I really hope the A stands for 'ass'

We know wha I:m going to say. They aren't the victims. A good photographer can selectively expose part of their film

Using AI support bots is less useful than having no support representatives at all

Out of Interest, does anyone on Slashdot know when Microsoft will complete Windows 11 and release it to the public. I appreciate we are well into beta testing now. I guess the problem is Windows 10 goes EOL in October which is going to leave a very small window for acceptance testing and organisations to roll out the final version of Windows 11

Users shout "we want the ability to manually update because we no longer have faith in you, Microsoft"

Microsoft hears "we want more shit broken MS products like copilot advertised on the login a screen"
