This is really no different from many other areas in which you can have conflicts of interest. For example, sports! And the answer isn't to ban betting, it's to ban betting by people who have a conflict of interest. This is well-trod ground.
I'm not particularly a fan of Kalshi or Polymarket and don't really care if they exist or not. My point is just that this isn't really any different from anything else.
The biggest clue that he hasn't read the books -- or maybe just doesn't remember them well -- is that all of the books and stories were built around demonstrating ways in which the rules failed. The 0th rule is only one example, and far from the clearest.
All of those potential "solutions" require more power. And what does it take to produce power? That's right: water. And lots of it for nuke, coal, gas and geothermal.
Solar + Wind + Battery doesn't require water, and that is what Google is planning to use. I did some searching and found that they've funded additional buildout of a large renewable generation plant (solar + wind + battery) in Gujarat, plus transmission lines to bring the power the 1100 miles from Gujarat. The Gujarat plant is already in progress, the government is investing $70B in it, and it's a particularly good area for renewable generation because the seasonal wind cycle is exactly opposite the seasonal solar cycle, so as the days get shorter and solar generation declines, the wind ramps up, and vice versa.
Oh, I thought you were just using this as another excuse to rant about Apple and Trump and your usual list of things. Forgive my confusion.

The fuzziness is intentional because they don't want to be on the hook for accidents if they can possibly avoid liability.
Google and Waymo have explicitly and repeatedly said that they are fully liable for accidents caused by their vehicles.
"VPN for normies" -- as I said, in iCloud Private Relay word, Safari is a special citizen with hiding IPs and using its own DNS, etc. It's a "VPN for normies" who don't have a full VPN.
I'm very happy that Apple is including a VPN for "normies." I see a lot of traffic to sites I manage coming from iCloud private relay blocks, and the demographic is teens and twenty somethings.
Having said that, for me, it's a bit mixed. Things get confused when running my OpenVPN or Wireguard split DNS vpn with--and sometimes without--iCloud relay. There are also some OS network-specific settings that involve blocking trackers that impact things too. Safari is kind of "special" in terms of how it looks at networks and DNS as compared to base *nix utilities or Chrome/Firefox. I'm still entirely on macOS 15 (skipping macOS 26, we'll see about 27), and the situation has gotten much better since early OS levels.

NONE of them have done this, not in 250 years. Not until Trump. Presidents make a lot of money after they leave office, yes, especially in recent decades. They command incredible speaking fees (Obama famously got $400k for one speech), they write books that make millions, etc. There are lots of people who are willing to give them money to get close to them, get their advice, etc.
But until Trump, none of them has used the office of the president to make money. No one else has sold pardons. No one else has set up a public stock and a memecoin to facilitate billions of dollars in bribes. No one else has brazenly sold insider secrets to stock traders.
Trump's corruption isn't just new in scale, it's a completely new thing that the United States of America has never before seen. We've seen plenty of corruption elsewhere in government, at all levels, but never in the oval office.

Fallacious argument. A Macbook Neo is not the same as a sub-$200 Chromebook (I cannot find a single Chromebook for that cheap on Amazon, either. The ones that are close, in the $250+, are dramatically inferior to the Neo in every way I can see.). I am speculating, but I expect that a Neo would be more durable and longlasting than a budget Chromebook. The screen, keyboard, trackpad, and everything else is certainly better.
If school systems with 25,000+ students are deciding to make this investment, there is a reason. They also have far more information about the financial realities of using Chromebooks and the costs of acquiring 25,000+ Neos. The proof will be in the pudding, and we'll see what happens in the next several years.
My own personal opinion--Chromebooks suck and worst of all, they make computing utterly miserable for students.

Apple went through a span of time where it was unfriendly to repairs. People rightfully complained, and they got better. That's everything working like it's supposed to, and Apple should be praised for improving.
