Journal Stargoat's Journal: Tax returns and money to spend 3

Having gotten back my tax return, I am torn on what to do with it. Certainly, I will save some of it, but I'd also like to purchase something.

I've given enough money for the year, so no more there.

I've got about 500 to spend. I'm thinking of a sword. Anyone have any ideas where to buy a good one? I'd like a German style longsword, 50 inches or more.

My computer is getting a little older, but I think I'll wait 6 months to see what happens with processors.

Anyone have any ideas?

Claymores, I think are classed as broadswords, which are even larger and heavier than regular two-handers, and if a burglar did break into your house, I'm pre

You can build yourself an awesome media center (i.e. a MegaTivo) for about $500; little PC (or parts for your existing little one), a capture card, linux, mythtv. [mythtv.org]

It's a fun project (i.e. some quiet-PC engineering, some fiddling with beta code/drivers), and when it works it kind of rocks. This is from someone who cares so little about TV I have an antenna rather than pay for cable. Think music, DVD jukebox, games, etc etc...
