Journal Some Woman's Journal: You know, I've learned something today... 7
Or rather, learned to resign myself to the inevitable.
Thursday is my last day of work at [CurrentMostAwesomeEmployerEver]. I'm not too happy about that, as my ideal job situation would involve doing exactly what I'm doing with twice the pay, as well as benefits other than the rare box of donuts by the coffee pot.
Unfortunately, unless people suddenly decide that plastic sucks, and start pumping money into inorganic research, that isn't going to happen, so it's time to move on. The job I will be going to is far more intriguing than others that I have interviewed for, but is very different from what I would like to be doing. I sincerely believe that I have been turned away from more than one job because they thought I would be bored based solely on my description of A Day in the Life of Some Woman. [BigCerealCompany] as much as said so when I interviewed for an analytical chemist position.
I've come to accept that I may never have a job that is as fascinating as the research that I've been a part of for the last 3.5 years (different things fascinate different people, 'kay?). And that's okay.
My roommate lost her job in a layoff today. And I'm worried about not getting employee discounted adhesives and abrasives.
