Journal SolemnDragon's Journal: Are there bears on the moon? 16

Are we there yet?

Are there bears on the moon?

What do they eat?

Can i have some chocolate?

What do easter bunnies eat?

Are zebras born stripey? Can their mothers tell them apart?

If you need a license to ride a car, and a dog needs a license, how come you don't need a license to ride a horse?

Do birds have a sense of taste?

Do bigger frogs come from giant tadpoles?

i like apples.

One year after our vacation last year, we found in Boston the same kind of breakfast bar we found in CA- and boy, do they bring back memories. (sparky, these would be the glutino brand)

If you plant a tree upside down, in dirt held in place upside down, do the roots grow down out of the dirt? Or does the tree just get hopelessly confused?

Which direction do they grow in, in space where there's no gravity?

Are we there yet?

I'm tired.

I had a dream last night that i was drowning.

When we get there, can i have an apple?

Cinco de mayo. Five of Mays!

Is there really a mexican hat dance, and if so, does it match my childhood memory of Carolyn Jones as Morticia Adams, prancing around the brim of a hat on the floor?

And do they always use the same hat, or do you use a new one so as to keep down the wear and tear on the hats?

NOW can i have some chocolate?

What's your favourite colour of crayon? I like burnt sienna. Better than burnt umbre, though i am fascinated by crayons named after torched places.

  • I always thought "cinco de mayo" meant "five jars of mayonnaise". Eww. Why would Mexico celebrate that?

  • Are we there yet? Where? Are there bears on the moon? No. What do they eat? Cheese. But they're not there anyway... Can i have some chocolate? Yes. I'd give you some of mine - Darrell Lea Chocolate is yummy! They gave me a "frequent buyer" card last time I visited. 8^) What do easter bunnies eat? Good question! I have no answer however... Are zebras born stripey? Can their mothers tell them apart? Yes. They are usually born withbrown and white stripes, then the brown turns darker. Zebra stripes a

      • I hate the word "burnt" and refuse to use it. It's everything that's wrong with the English language.

I'll be over here with my burned sienna crayon, thank you very much.

Why? It's a perfectly cromulent word.
        • the city burned through the night, and was completely burnt by the next day.

I was sleeping, and slept well, not knowing of the fire.

Meanwhile, the citizens were fleeing the city, and by the next week all had fled. The remaining farmers, fearing for their lives, went creeping from the fields, and near morning the last of them crept past my lair.

I considered leaping out at one or two of them. In the end, the one that leapt was a village child, right into my doorway.

  • It's called Jarabe tapatío. [wikipedia.org] And evidently the dancers son't dance around a hat. The male does throw his hat to the ground at some point though.
    • that very article says that some accounts have the girl dancing on the brim of the hat...

last few sentences of the article.

      • Please excuse my lack of an adequate attention span.

I stopped reading at the end of the initial description of the dance, just before it discussed a dancer who further popularized it.

I stand corrected (by the source I provided, no less)

Have a pleasant day, and get well soon.

If you need a license to ride a car, and a dog needs a license, how come you don't need a license to ride a horse?

Because the horse already has a licence?

Do birds have a sense of taste?

Alot of them are dressed pretty sharp.

  • concerning pigments. there are pigments made from burnt umber and sienna. there are also pigments made from raw umber and raw sienna. i find the the burnt (oxidized) versions to be more useful. those colors are used in all sorts of mediums (oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastels, etc.). when i used to paint a lot, i usually set up my palette as:

    titanium white
    flake white replacement (sometimes)
    ivory black
    burnt umber
    burnt sienna
    yellow ochre
    naples yellow
cadmium yellow light (or sometimes hansa yellow
