The researchers are already working on making the device secure against unauthorized transmissions.

You're going to trust your body chemistry (moods, behaviors, etc) to a company that considers security as an afterthought?

Good luck.

I've never understood why we got stuck on this 'climate change' issue in the first place.

Smog/soot/crappy air is something everybody can see. Nobody is happy about dirty air, but the things that cause it are largely the same things that are blamed for causing the climate to change.

Frame the issue around the pollution and people will get behind it, because they can see it. It has an obvious and personal effect on them. Frame it around something that happens over decades, and that _may_ affect their grandchildren and you end up with a bunch of deniers and heel-diggers.

Geez, they're just lucky that they're still alive. That very big gun, capable of mowing down, well...just about anything, could have leapt out that box and killed her unborn child!

I mean, unloaded guns, still in packaging, have killed untold numbers of unsuspecting hipsters.

The Three Flavors of Windows 8 500

First time accepted submitter Kelerei writes "Windows 8 has been confirmed as the official name for the next x86/x64 version of Windows, which will be released in two editions: a home edition (simply named 'Windows 8') featuring an updated Windows Explorer, Task Manager, improved multi-monitor support and 'the ability to switch languages on the fly,' while a professional edition ('Windows 8 Pro') adds features for businesses and technical professionals such as encryption, virtualization and domain connectivity. Windows Media Center will not be included in the Pro edition and will be available separately as part of a 'media pack' add-on. A third edition, branded as 'Windows RT,' will be available for ARM-based systems."
