Shadow Wrought's Journal: Out of ICU!

While she still has a long path ahead of her, the little girl I wrote about earlier is now out of the ICU. The drains did what they were supposed to do, and she is doing much, much better. She still has a very long path she's going to have to walk, but, at least for the time being, she's out of the dark part of the woods.

Thank you all, truly, for sending your thoughts and prayers to her and her family. Ya'all rock.

It is good to hear. It is so sad to see children affected by health issues.

We have some friends who's daughter has biliary atresia [wikipedia.org]. It is terribly sad to see her little body have a scar across most of her stomach from her first surgery, and knowing that she will likely have another surgery within a few years, though thankfully they already have a donor for the liver (only part is required).

I'm so glad to hear that. I was pulling for her, too, but didn't say anything because I had mod points and modded up all the well-wishers. Sort of superstitious of me, but I thought the mod points for everyone wishing well was a better commentary than just posting. Best mod points I ever awarded! I guess it worked. I also have this magic key that protects me from tiger attacks. ;-)
