Journal Red Warrior's Journal: "Plamegate" 10

The leaker comes clean.

I know that all of the leftists who regaled us with tales of the Rovian Plot(tm) of the White House to trash noble Joe Wilson would like to take this opportunity to say apologize to Rove, Bush, Cheney, Libby, et al.

Just as I'm sure the media will runs months of front page articles and lead editorials about how they made a serious error in their rush to judgement.

[crickets]

Oh, and interestingly enough...
The Justice Department was quickly informed, and Mr. Armitage disclosed his talks with Mr. Novak in subsequent interviews with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, even before Mr. Fitzgerald's appointment.

That would be the appointment to find out who the Rovian White House leak was, right?...

  • The person who said he "came clean" is anonymous. We still don't know for sure.
    • The fact that his lawyers confirmed it is enough for me.

Hell, the fact that they didn't come out screaming that it's a damn lie is enough for me.

The fact that his lawyers confirmed it is enough for me.

But we don't even know it was his lawyer ... assuming the NY Times didn't just completely invent it, and the person actually exists. We don't have a name, we don't have a firm, we just have "a lawyer involved in the case."

Hell, the fact that they didn't come out screaming that it's a damn lie is enough for me.

I agree it is likely and all. It's just that I don't think we can say it's a confirmed fact.

If it is true -- which seems very likely -- at this

Got a mouse in your pocket? :-P

          I can. Just did.
If I'm wrong, I'll issue a Mea Culpa.

Oh, and I agree re: Friday afternoon. Probably about 2:30 our time...

Well, you ARE wrong. Whether or not it is a fact, it has not been confirmed as such.
            • Pudge, my dear boy, you are being needlessly petulant.
I'm sorry you see the need to be so.
You don't have license to be so here.

I consider it a confirmed fact, and have clearly so stated.
Due to multiple independent sources with differing agendas, including Armitages lawyer, all unambiguously stating it as so.
That meets my threshold, as previously stated.

The fact that you don't want to accept it as so absent a press conference by Armitage is your issue, not mine.
If you want to throw hissy fits about people no

You do not know that: no one ever said this was Armitage's lawyer (well, except you :-). Read the NY Times piece again. It says "lawyer involved in the case." That does not imply it is HIS lawyer, and they keep referring to this person as "the lawyer," not "his lawyer." I wonder if they mean to imply it through multiple cases of juxtaposition to "colleagues/associates of Mr. Armitag

First, yes it is clearly implied in the NYT piece that it is Armitages lawyer. Second, you totally blew by the bit about multiple independent sources. Third, you are ignoring the reference to him having informed Powell, the Justice Depart
    • Well, that doesn't matter.
Since he is a Republican, he is OBVIOUSLY guilty.
We just don't know of what, specifically.
