I'd like to point out that when companies merge, the first thing that happens is all the dead weight gets cut. Usually all a merger does is get a company with lots of cash a name brand it needed, or a small set of people with skills it deemed desirable. Everything else is just chaff that it had to take with what it really wanted. Once the deal is done, you usually start seeing reductions all over.
While this is done in the corporate world, you want our governments that kick out all the citizens it decides it doesn't really want or need?
And go work for a small company, versus a very large one. Tell me after you've spent a year at each one witch is more efficient.
