It was costing Reddit too much, Blockchain was definitely the problem. The "promise" is decentralization, except clearly it was not, and a regular ass SQL instance would have done the same thing for them for way less cost.

I am convinced that these companies are not endlessly extending copyright because they want to make money off the material, but because these companies don't want this material becoming free competition to new material. Imagine if we had the original tiny length of time Copyright and things like Star Wars or Star Trek or Godzilla or Lord of the Rings had all become public domain. Why bother with the new when everyone "owns" the old.

On AM and FM in cars. I just wish there was an option in the menu to at least hide the AM band Innever listen to so I don't have to skip over it when toggling the source from CD or Bluetooth. Even more, Ineant to hide/disable the Sattelite as a source because I will never subscribe to that.

Yeah, this is the real problem. The editors are ass. They also seem to edit only on some perfect high end set up and don't bother testing out the mix on a $100 Wal-Mart special in a living room environment. Sure, some peope have Dolby X.1 Atmos Hyper Fidelity Uber Sound and those ten people will find your mix great and immersive, but 99% of people don't, and it makes the experience shit.

I mean, yeah, some of these drives would be perfectly usable, but sometimes they are tiny 100-200 GB drives from old servers, not even 1 TB. Are they really useful to anyone? Heck even 1TB isn't that useful most of the time for any serious data needs.

As one of the comments on the article points out, they may not have been actually locked in other than the idea that once they leave, they won't be able to get back in, and in to their belongings. So they were effectively trapped. I also have to wonder why there aren't just regular keys as a back up option to the electronic locks. So the hotel staff can get in regardless of the situation.

I don't pirate music or ebooks. I have bought a ton of both. I wish movies would follow suit with a simple DRM free system.

They have said they aren't doing "'Windows as a service subscription" and you won't have to pay for it in the future etc etc. I worry though it will become a situation of "It's free but you have to have these ads and can only run apps from the app store, otherwise you need to pay a subscription". I like Windows 10 and Microsoft but if that happens, I'm just going to be done with it and them. I'll just roll everything back to Windows 7 even if it has to be pirate copies or just install Linux.
