Doesn't everyone just have a collection of apps you need and stick to those? I can't even remember when I bought an App. Even free apps only get downloaded when absolutely needed.

Indeed, that is why anyone with a clue wouldn't make important (hell, any... ) devices on a Cloud Service. I, and I hope nobody with a clue, wouldn't accept a firewall that is cloud dependent.

Mine beeps but also gives me an estimate for the time needed. That is useful. I just set an alert on my phone based on that time. Not hard.

Amazon Prime also allows you to download the content. (At least on a phone/tablet you can, I don't know for computers. Probably not.)

I don't expect support from any vendor on any platform. It's that simple.

Support? I use Debian. I do my own support and use "the Internet" for that. My SteamBox is literally Debian 11, booting into a very lightweight DE, autostarting the Steam client in Big Picture mode... all of the info to do that, is available online.

Many budget laptops still come with 1366x768. Many good second hand business machines do too.
