Journal Planesdragon's Journal: My damn cool wife 12

As you may or may not know, I'm married. I got married at the tender age of 18 to a not-pregnant woman only ten months older than me, in the very early days of 1998. Since then, I've come to one very solid conclusion.

My wife makes me the absolute luckiest man in the world.

We don't have as much money as either of us would like, but we're happier romance-wise than anyone else I know, bar none. :) Plus, she's a gamer (video games and tabletop), has an almost identical religion to me (very, very slight variations of Christianity--we're practially point for point for point), and she is, quite simply, everything I could ever ask for in a woman. :) I'm so happy.

(Edit: darn typo)

  • Congrats! How old are you now?
  • And I should think you would become very well aware of this. You've been married for five years now, and it sounds as if you're as happy as you were still courting. Cherish it. So many relationships are toss- away things established in carnal foolishness. I've got friends who read Proverbs 31:10-31 on a daily basis, just waiting for the one.

    And you've found her.

I think that's great. You just keep on loving her, and surprise her with a rose now and again. Always remember that you have distinct
  • I am going to have to disagree with you on that. I am actually the luckiest man. My wife (blackwidowb [slashdot.org] fits the same description as your, except she is also a computer programmer like me too. :-P

Granted I did have to wait until I was 24 (I think) until we were married. So I guess you have a couple years on us.

God truly blesses us (married men especially) far more than we deserve with our wives.
    • As a Pastor, "I" have to be the luckiest man alive..been married for 10 years the a beautiful woman of God who is willing to go with me to China to as a missionary.
      • Oh, come one. Those women are a dime a dozen. ;-)

That's cool though. We have a couple in our church from Tiawan. She was on mission work from the states to there, he was in a couple of the English classes she was teaching.

Hearing some of the stories that she will tell us of "interesting" things her students would get her to eat while there is an awful lot of fun. Some of them come down to "dead bird on a stick" and other creative foods.

Either way, I would have to say, yes your wife must love you a lo
  • ..does she have a sister? :-)

Kidding. I'm glad to see happy Christian couples. (Well, really just happy couples in general.) I hope to be happily married one day, but for now, I'm just having fun flirting with every attractive girl in sight. :-)

  • i'm totally in love with my wife; she's totally in love with me. we're planning to keep this up indefinately. it's been really easy so far, but then again, we dated for over seven years before we got married. we're not exactly the same, but we have very similar beliefs and interests. we compliment each other perfectly.

i'm glad you're still stoked on your marriage. it says a lot (good) for you that you got married young and still feel great about your relationship.
  • I love a happy ending. Here's to another 5 years, and another...
  • You have a small typo you might want to fix:
    I got
marred at the tender age of 18
If you really got marred to start off your married relationship, I don't think I want to know! :-)
  • Congrats! But as other posters have mentioned, there's probably less luck involved in your happiness than you suggest. :-)

I did have to laugh at the quote at the bottom of the page as I was reading your journal entry about your appreciation for your wife:
"Were there no women, men might live like gods." -- Thomas Dekker
