I have notifications for text messages but that's about it. I never understood the need to be pinged every time something happens on my phone. I'm a millenial btw.

I graduated in 2001, we got our TI calculators taken away because they had games on them, and now kids are allowed to have little, internet connected computers with them at all times? How could you POSSIBLY learn anything with a screen at your disposal throughout the day? I think all schools should keep kids' phones in some kind of safe during class hours. It's a bit draconian, but high school kids can't focus very well in the first place, don't let them have entertainment machines in their pockets during class.

Yeah so the recording industry is evil, I go see live concerts of bands I love and buy their merch--- but I also recently started a Spotify subscription, so I guess the several GBs of FLACs I have of stuff I can't find there is "OK". As for tv and movies though, seriously fuck these companies that are too greedy to just do SOME consolidation-- but NOO they have to have their OWN service and try to make pandemic-era $$$. Double digit amounts of streaming services that will seemingly at random, just axe whole shows/movies? Yeah I'll just keep torrenting thanks.

You can run some Windows games in Linux with steam now... the ones they could easily port / modify. Sadly if you want anything new or just a AAA title, you're still stuck with Windows. So many cry babies here, boo hoo it deactivated itself for a bit, it must be a horrible OS. jeeze..

Yeah... Typing Of The Dead is 15 years old? Or.. more? So many games, new and old are available through digital distribution. I'm sorry that PC's frustrate you, but they're really perfectly fine as a gaming platform and have been for decades. I think tracking everyone's behavior and then scoring them on it, then using that score to deny them various services is a little fucked. You get negatively scored for j-walking in China-- it's just too draconian. Chill out China, people are more productive when they don't have to look over their shoulder constantly.

Yeah, those games are destroying the industry. Why make unique and amazing single player experiences when you can rake in whatever billions they've pulled in selling battle packs or whatever in the store. It may be good, we can herd all of the 13-17yo gamers into one type of game (Battle Royale) -- then they won't bother the adults on popular AAA shooters calling us bitches and alluding to sleeping with our mothers.

It's an amazing functionality that I use to watch pretty much everything. I have a Plex (http://www.plex.tv) server set up, with the plex iOS app and a Chromecast device (Like the FireTV stick but not shitty) plugged into my TV, I can cast from my phone as a kind of remote to the TV. I can use Netflix or any other video streaming app and cast it to my TV as well-- I'm surprised you're just now hearing about this. Now VLC supports it you should be able to throw whatever from VLC to your TV.

This situation really pisses me off-- I don't have a lot of extra money, I have a 660 GTX and was REALLY hoping to buy a new 1060 6GB come tax season, and after actually looking on pricewatch and newegg, it's a disaster. Cards for $230-$299 are now $500+ and I just can't swing that. I'm hoping some new stock comes in next month for a reasonable price, or I can find someone on eBay who isn't a greedy dickweed. This needs to stop.

No sir, I don't like it. The "old" design did look kind of dated, but I could get at everything I wanted to without that many clicks. I wish they had just updated the visual style a bit and kept the workflow the same. I'll just have to get used to it I guess, I'm a news junkie and check GNews every morning @ work.
