Is this how much today's consumer who typically doesn't have to print anything very much expected to pay?
I'm sure some people use their printers all the time, but mine ran out of ink years ago and I never had anything to print that was worth the cost of replacing the cartridges - all 4 of them. I'm sure a a lot of people just print stuff at their jobs when they need to as well. I've certainly done that before, but today I couldn't and I really wanted to print out this file.
Two dollars is a small price, I guess especially when I saw the impressive printer that was almost the size of a cow and the paper and print quality are really nice. But I remember when I could get a photocopy for just 10 cents and I didn't need anything more than a hardcopy. I actually thought of asking her if it would have been cheaper just to print it in black and white, but by that time I already had the 3 high quality color pages of mostly text and a barcode and a logo.
I didn't really expect to walk out of there for only 30 cents, but 70 cents a page seems like highway robbery.
And of course I have no assurance that they didn't copy the file that I printed or that they didn't copy everything else on the USB drive that I brought in. That's why I brought in a USB drive with only one file on it - and that file isn't even that personal. I had initially copied it to my phone and then figured that would be a bad idea to plug my phone into some business's computer.
