I hate my Samsung QLEDâ(TM)s refusal to be nothing more than a screen. Everything about it is terrible, and most of the time when you press button on you get an ad.
It is fair if people who wished to support you gave up luxuries to acquire the resources needed to get you higher pay. It is fair if you used access to resources to acquire skills and knowledge that provided more value or were underrepresented. It is fair if you elected to take on work based on compensation you agreed with.

They are getting paid. Should they? No. But they are. So yes, 9 month year means they get paid more per month than 12 month years. They choose to work in the summer. That doesnâ(TM)t change the fact that it is a 9 month year.
The UK has summer break. For UK post-grads it is typically located between April–August. They may elect to work through that period, but the year is still 9 months. Some UK universities have more than three months off for summer, which in that case would make their pay increase, but 9 months is a good average.
