Gamer Nexus has been kind of disingenuous about the whole thing. As in, showing the response on screen where LG claims the audio stuff is Opt-In but intentionally skipping over it and never actually showing a test on a TV where they have not specifically enabled the audio features. Well, no shit it's listening when you turn that feature on. Not that I trust LG in the slightest, they're scum, but this whole affair smells like it's mostly manufactured outrage and not some massive "scoop."

The GDPR has serious jurisdictional boundary issues. People in the EU need to understand that anything outside of their own country is "use at your own risk" if there's not a formal legal agreement (treaties, etc.) and to stop trying to push their local regulations globally.

Under US law you have to actually prove damages, which are zero. I don't know if reddit has any legal presence in the UK or not, that's most likely the only chance you have of getting anywhere with them. The biggest issue with reddit is that random mods in subs can basically kick you off the entire site by reporting posts as general reddit rule violations. I quit using the site a few years ago after a mod in a sub got mad at a post I made, and went and reported posts I had left in a FPS video game sub as "inciting or encouraging violence." I of course appealed but it was determined that the posts still violated the site policy.

Incorrect. Science is a process, if you "believe" in a claim or a result that's not Science. Science demands we constantly question and test things even when they are considered "settled." Questioning things like climate change is not Denial of Science. Refusing to question them is. Blindly following a result which caters to your desires is just as much of a problem as blindly rejecting the result.

It's almost impossible to find good sources. Most don't even tell you what sort of cooling is being used and are just shouting vaguely. Finding an article that actually tells you where the water is drawn from and where it goes is rare, because that would take actual effort to report and might take away from the currently popular "Big Tech BAD" narrative.
