Vid/podcasts will quickly become shunned if they sell out to corporate interests. No one wants to download something that's seemingly independent, only to find out that it's a 30-minute, 500MB commercial for HP/Canon/Sony/whatever. I started OA to geek out about games and tech and have fun. Many cool things have happened since, including a few upcoming guest segments on Call For Help, but that's just bonus. Those that start these kinds of projects for financial gain will find very little reward at this point in time and will (hopefully) jump to other get-rich-quick schemes while those of us that care about the content we're producing will merrily continue on.

ps: episode 3 really IS coming :)

Wow, and I thought it was just my (Chinese) mom that did that....! Luckily my dad got some sense knocked into him and moved out and I happily tagged along in the months before moving 3 hours away to school then across the ocean (again for school). For people like R's mom, sometimes you just have to get the hell away from them - ie, not run to make them worried then come back, just *snip snip snip* out of your life. Worked for me anyway, and my life has been a lot better since!

Aren't Asian families the best?!

You know what it's like when you meet those people who have SO MUCH TO SAY, but are annoying to the point where no one will listen? Yeah, the kind where the internal pressure in their heads just builds and builds and builds till the dyke collapses and it's released in a tidal wave of epic proportions on an unwitting victim. Well, I had the pleasure of being such a victim last night. Some of my boys tried to save me, but hey, I'm here to learn about German culture, right? ^_^
