Did everything get worse with environmental protections, worksplace safety and labor protections, automobile safety standards, financial, drug alochol and tobbaco regulations? Something as simple as "no algoritms on the main feed" should do it, you get the content you're subscribed to, and then you get no new content most of the time because what you're subscripted to isn't producing 24/7.

Someone with a smoking addiction would step out every hour or so, social media addicts are far more distracted being stuck in the infinite scroll. I removed instagram from my smartphone long ago, I only get to it when I'm on a desktop.
