  • I'm kind of curious as to what the response from these idiots would be if some rednecks or something sank to their levels. Something like good old white trash Americans getting sick of hearing about the middle east screaming about death to America and all that and going on a bombing spree. Maybe a mob of southern baptists torching the embassy to Saudi Arabia or something.

    I doubt it's the best plan, and I don't recommend anybody try it, but I'm trying to place responses from various parties. Clearly the US

    • Even if it wasn't planned, I wouldn't put it past Bush's administration to use it as a gateway to another accident, should it serve them well politically. "See? These people are insane. That means we need to protect the world from their insanity. Let's start a pre-emptive strike against all Muslims and throw them into prison camps. It's for the good of our children". Blah blah blah...

    This is a counter argument: I think firstly the proper thing to do is break down the issue for concise analysis before blurting out our first responses. Poorly thought out responses are ultimately what warranted the little problem to begin with. This is not just the depiction of for example some bug-eyed, big-lipped black person labeling it "Coon [ferris.edu]" and posting it in a local newpapers (which was done in Europe and the US). Which today would probably inspire a similar result as in
    • I guess since I'm not religious this just confirms my stance that religion is the root of most (nearly all) evil in the world. If you look at what is happening objectively, you have a few editors and cartoonists acting irresponsibly by drawing and publishing a few pictures. Because of that act an huge group of people basically wishes wholesale death and destruction on several nations.

      If I were an alien looking at this I'd be amazed we ever made it out of the stone age.
