That was a failure, but the first failure was not recognizing it wasn't ready for a research project either. When they realized it was going to have to be heavy and bulky, they should have stopped and either iterated the design again, or smarter IMO, waited for tech to improve (or push it) and then done another design. OTOH Apple can afford to lose the money...
Glad to hear they are still kicking. I hear there's also some Linux-based stuff now but I haven't seen it yet, I'm afraid I'm not much in the market for new cars.

What code they are based on is irrelevant. Slashdot still has a very simple interface (I am using it right now, it is still the best interface) which is easy for bots to interface to using the DOM. Whether it's Perl or C# or Ada underneath makes no difference.
The real question, therefore, is why are we still being subjected to this cowardly anonymous bullcrap? This management has turned off AC posting before, and you could say they turned it back on only because post counts tanked, but have you seen post counts recently? It's now horribly rare to break 100.

It might even have an oil quality sensor, it's done by doing a dielectric measurement of the oil so it's pretty cheap. They aren't nuanced, but they are better than nothing. Mercedes likes them a lot, so Chrysler learned to like them too. There is one on our '06 Sprinter. It's also an oil temp sensor.
I'm almost positive my uncle is also on a community well, if not his own personally well. There's no outside major pipe line going into the mountains there.
OK, but I've actually lived where I've been on spring water with a sewage connection, and where I've been on well water without one and using septic, and meanwhile I had to get internet via a local WISP. So while the water and sewage needs can sometimes be handled locally, the internet needs cannot and never can be by definition. But also, the internet is much easier to bring in, I can't reasonably send water through the air (though it does arrive that way sometimes) and I certainly don't want to airmail my sewage.
In some scenarios, your best bet would be more cell towers or satellite, especially if the alternative is attempting to blast or bore through rock.
That's really important to Morlocks, but not so much for the rest of us.
Why all the escapism though? Isn't it only happening because of things we're not addressing and are in denial about at a lower level?
