Pirate Party Founder Rick Falkvinge Launches News Service 66

New submitter lillgud writes: Rick Falkvinge, founder of the first Pirate Party, has unveiled a news service to compete against "oldmedia." The news stories will be three sentences in length, and distributed within shareable images. Falkvinge says this obviates certain parts of the industry — for example, there will be no need for clickbait headlines, because there's nothing to click on. The business model is based around advertising, but those ads will simply be a watermark on the image. Thus, no worries about adblock, and no concerns about ad networks collecting information from users. The service is targeted to be operational in Q3. Each writer will be paid in accordance to a revenue sharing model, and Falkvinge's goal is for each part-time writer to receive €125/month in exchange for four stories (12 sentences).

Been using them for over 5 years, while they are $29.99/month there is no contract. Good web app and android app. They also used to have referral programs, you could choose X% off for you and every person you refer or after 5 referrals you get monitoring free for life, I only have 1 or 2 left to get it free for life. I don't use their camera's as I like my zoneminder setup better. While I wish it had some sort of hook/API for integrating into the rest of my HA, I would rather have the stability and assurance it provides. It runs over your internet connection and has a cellular backup that is currently free for life once you purchase that module. I did my whole house for $450. I like that it sends me a text message anytime there is a broadband outage. Also has other alerts, like AMBER, local crime, weather, ect.... I saw a youtube video that was posted last month that should some sort of integration with their cameras and directv, so you would see a popup on motion detected. I replace the sensor batteries about once a year, costs something like $13 for the batteries on ebay. The console and base batteries are pretty cheap too and I just replaced them yesterday. I searched for a long time for a better DIY system, there was nothing that was far along enough for me to persue. As I am now working on a NinjaBlock integration, I have been looking again, but nothing I have seen gives me the stability that you get from a normal security system.

My car dash app on my phone already does this..... And on another note, when my phone is locked all I have to press is emergency call then 911 and any other number I have allowed can be dialed with out having to unlock the phone. Simple and easy. I would like a way to quickly activate the microphone, start taking pics and recording GPS cords then upload then upload them to my server or a subset of them on different time intervals. Hell even make barking or siren noises. Guess I know have a weekend project. I like the idea of a panic, but it should have to be enabled, and be highly configurable. Maybe a special code on the lock screen. Or volume up and down X number of times, not just down 4 times. And butt dialing... WTF! There is no god damn excuse for it anymore. If you butt dial you should have your phone privileges revoked. End of story.

I would think in the beginning you will only be able to do this in the Doctor's office and then on top of that how many times and a week and how often? It would be nice to be able to take the device home and upload results to your Doctor to review and then in return download new games/settings recommended from your Doctor. While I am hopeful, we won't see this in the US for a very long time.
