Sweden, the poster child for not locking down including closing no grade school classrooms went from 5th on the list of countries by covid deaths per million as of June of 2020 (The U.S. was only 4 below them ranked 9th) to two years later Sweden having fallen to 42nd on the list with the U.S. doing not as well falling only to 15th on the list. Sweden also faired better than the U.S. with a lower rate of "excess deaths". Florida locked down far less than California and has had a covid higher death rate. But Florida has a much higher percentage of senior citizens and when you do a comparison of deaths adjusted for age ranges California and Florida are close. The biggest tragedy of the lockdowns were grade school children. Poor children especially on the whole suffered from the switch to remote learning, being far more likely to slip between the cracks.

This is first and foremost another gift to unions of a project that essentially will consist of taxpayers subsidizing gamblers and partyers.

This man obviously had a casino insider helping him to systematically cheat fellow poker players. Fellow players' hole cards or at least bet/check/fold decisions were relayed to his cell phone. And he got away with it for many months. And he was finally outed/accused by a female player who was initially derided and ignored. Last I heard a group of players who had been cheated sued the casino and had their case thrown out for jurisdictional reasons. There may be more recent updates than what I am aware of but I believe so far he casino (Stones Gambling Hall near Sacramento) has essentially gotten away with one of their employees defrauding patrons.
