I have a deep interest in a broad range of topics, and willingly comment on all of them. Quite frequently this is done in the manner of a social gadfly, and people frequently misconstrue my support or disagreement with a particular debate or thread of logic as support or disagreement with the overarching issue at hand. Often, this is not the case, and my opposition is to a flaw in critical thinking or perhaps is merely an instigation to produce further introspection. While I typically avoid making completely erroneous statements, it has been known to happen. I use such as a goad to myself to further learn the finer points of the topic at hand, so as to avoid making a (logical) ass out of myself in the future. As for making an ass out of myself in general, I have no doubt that will continue to happen. I merely strive to be consistent and logical, and am perfectly content in the company of those with whom I disagree so long as they strive to be consistent and logical as well.
