Journal FidelCatsro's Journal: Map of Terror leads to Syria 10

So Iraqi WOMD were Supposedly flown to Syria just prior to Operation Liberate Iraqi Oil .A general of the old Iraqi regime recently claimed , in an attempt to secure a large pay-off and immunity from prosecution .
So .. Next target , Syria .
You see getting the Oil from Iraq to the USA is a tricky and expensive business , also potentially dangerous .
However if you go via friendly nations the whole process becomes a lot easier ...
What happens to be right next to Syria , That's right .. Israel .
I am not saying Israel had anything to do with this , I think the US could concoct this one without help.

I think Bush is trying to fix the budget deficit .

This would normally be something I would think to be a strange conspiracy theory .. maybe it is just me following my Paradolia .. but i tell you , if I were them I would do it(note* I am not that much of a scum bag that I would sacrifice lives for money ,but If I was that heartless) .

I'd suggest Turkey rather than Greece, since its next door to Iraq (which eliminates the need to guard a long pipeline through a potentially hostile "liberated" Syria).

Of course, since a pipeline from Iraq to Turkey would go through Kurdish regions it would become a target of Kurdish separatists, who would undoubtedly (according to intelligence, anyway) work from bases in Iran, opening the way for a retaliatory Turkish anti-terror st
    • but that wouldn't explain the Syria WOMD thing ;)
      • True, and I'm not for an instant suggesting your scenario is any less plausible than anything I could cook up.

My reasoning is based on the apparent lack of internal disapproval of the Syrian regime; for the US to invade and maintain a highly vulnerable piece of infrastructure like an oil pipeline they'd need a portion of the local population to assist, otherwise they'd be facing a massive military commitment against a unified oppostition. That will make Iraq look like a Sunday stroll. I'm not sure the US pu
  • US would have a lot of problems attacking Syria.

First, it's based on shitty "evidence" from non-descript sources. Secondly, extremely powerful countries, including India, China (who submitted and won a joint bid for Syrian oilfields) and Russia would be opposed to it. Thirdly, it would ignore the more obvious threats such as Iran and N. Korea. Fourthly, it would stretch an extremely tired American army even further.
