That is to say, the 007 Poll.

Since Madame Pixie asked, what's your favorite Bond movie and/or book?

And I'll add some more:

Which Bond actor was or is your favorite?

What was your favorite Bond gadget?

Who was your favorite Bond babe?

Who was your favorite Bond villain?

Which Bond theme song is your favorite?

And which Bond movie did you like the least? *cough*Moonraker*cough*

    • Funny you should ask -- I was in the midst of writing my answer. :-)

My favorite Bond movie is, hands down, The Spy Who Loved Me. The opening sequence just rocks, and the rest of the movie hums along nicely. Love the submersible Lotus, too. And for Major Anya Amasova, I'd say screw Queen and Country, I'm defecting. Runner-up would be Octopussy, though You Only Live Twice is also a great one.

While I will be the first to admit that Connery was the better actor, having grown up with Moore as Bond, I always

  • If Sean Connery is not your favourite Bond , then how did you receive your brain damage :D
    • I salute you, sir. You actually found a question that left me speechless. ;-)

(As you will note from my answers above, I freely admit to my self-inflicted lobotomy.)

      Cheers,

      Ethelred

  • That would be Denise Richards as Christmas Jones. Oh god. No acting ability whatsoever. Ruined the entire movie. I mean...how freaking hard is it to play a Mr. Bond sex interest?
  • -What's your favorite Bond movie and/or book?
That's hard, I like me some Bond. I'm usually happy with the LRV (least-recently viewed.) Hmm.. Dr. No? Goldfinger? Thunderball. Something early, I think.

-Which Bond actor was or is your favorite?
Sean Connery, obviously. Though I think Pierce Brosnen does a great job, and I had though he would since Remington Steele.

-What was your favorite Bond gadget?
    The two safecracking tools.

-Who was your favorite Bond babe?
I was reminded recently of the blonde gymnast gir
  • Best Bond Movie: my personal favorite is View to a Kill. Yeah, its just a redux of Goldfinger but it's got the childhood edge. It looked so badass. It has the snowboarding/Beach Boys opening, the goofy Silicon Valley plot, and the coked-up horse subplot.
    Best Bond: Connery.
Best Gadget: always liked the needle gun from Moonraker. But I'm a classicist: The Walther PPK.
Best Bond Girl: XXX, Barbara Bach. She's kinda short but was sorta busty and wore that very nice black dress with the to-the-butt-crack
  • Favorite movie: For Your Eyes Only.
Runner-up: The Living Daylights. It might not be a traditional Bond, or Bond movie, but it's damn excellent in it's own way.

Favorite Bond: Pierce Brosnan, followed by Sean Connery. I like the more serious, realistic Bond's even though the movies are unrealistic.

Favorite gadget: Q Boat from The World is not Enough. If that's too big for a gadget, then the laser watch from Goldeneye. If they were really real, I'd probably pick the phone from Tomorrow Never Dies, but
  • Jaws. I just loved the way he would grab Bond and then try to bite him. Great strategy. :)

And the best gadget would have to be that car and remote control cell phone combo from tomorrow never dies. Rocket launcher on its roof, bullet proof windows, doors that can shock people, and a babe computer voice. Doesn't get much better than that.
That exploding pen from goldeneye was also great. Just leave a couple of them around the cubicles of your enemies. "Wow, a free pen!"
  • Best bond:

Roger Moore. As others have said, he wasn't necessarily the best actor, but he's the one I grew up with. I like Connery and Brosnan too, but Moore takes it for me. I have reasonably high hopes for Daniel Craig. I thought he was pretty good in "Layer cake", and will suit the role well.

    Best gadget:

Easiest question fo the lot. The amphibious Lotus Esprit in "The spy who loved me". Orders of magnitude better than any other gadget. I had a die cast model of it as a child, complete with plastic ro

    • Opps... I forgot:

      Bond movie:

"The spy who loved me". It had pretty much everything, and will be hard to beat. I like "Never say never again", too (more even than the original "Thunderball"). I appreciate that puts me in the minority, but who cares?

    • Whoa. You gave very similar answers to mine, although I forgot to mention Blofeld. (Barbara Bach's character's actual name was Anya Amasova -- XXX was her code name.)

I actually kinda liked Diamonds Are Forever. But other than that I'd say you have excellent taste. ;-)

      Cheers,

      Ethelred

    • Rosamund Pike was good, but her push-up sports bra in the airplane fight scene was awesome. I think Halle's problem was her lines were as rediculous as Sean Connery's back in his films.
  • You left off an important one:

Q: What is the best Bond film character name?

    A: Pussy Galore, of course
