      I don't drink regular Captain anymore either. Private Stock is +10 proof, smoother, and only $2.00 a bottle more where I live. Why live cheap?

        for fun heres my loverly Rum recipie

        1 shot each
        vodka
        tequila
        light rum
        dark rum
        151

        Shake with ice.
        Pour into a large glass preferrabley >20oz
        fill with ice
        top off with fruit juice.

        sit in the shade and sip with a straw.

          That shit erased 4 hours of my life. I was hanging out with this chick at my apartment back in the day, ran out of Captain, had 1 drink of 151 and 4 hours later I woke up. I don't know what the hell happened, but sadly it didn't involve sex.

          The girl was still there, so apparently I just blacked out for a good while. She didn't seem weirded out either, so I guess I maintained.

          Sheesh. You're the man.

    Okay, I've only had it the once - bought it because it came with a shot glass, deck of cards and some poker chips. Was quite a nice drop too...

    My bourbon of choice is Maker's Mark - straight, perhaps with ice, but rarely mixed with coke. With coke, it's gotta be Beam.

    Scotch? Glenfiddich, neat, though a Johnny Black and dry ginger ain't to be sneezed at.

  • the only thing in THAT cabinet not made from grain are tequila and good clear rum, and potato vodka. Me, i think i'll opt for my own cherry vodka, because it's mixist but it's smooth as ice. *grin* this stuff can take the hide off a bear at forty paces. (sampled some of the new batch over the weekend, it's coming out absolutely incredible.)

    Gonna start an extra bottle of straight (unsweetened) to balance it later, though, because it's gonna be too sweet if i'm not careful.

  • Stuff is STRONG. I was known to be able to handle a shot of it, but my giant beer drinking roomates would get into a coughing fit trying to pound one.

    None of the above. Ick.

    If I want hard alcohol, give me a smooth vodka. Thanks. But most of the time it's wussy stuff like Frangelico. As if I drank more than once every 6 months any more anyway....
