Oops. Well, there is text here. But if someone has already used [nt] or {nt} or [NT]... then slashdot tell you "This comment was already posted previously in this discussion". So you have to change it up in order to get the post up. So I have sarcastic [nt] tags in the message body. So sue me.;p
The only 2 software titles I'm interested in are Mac OS X 10.3 and Unreal Tournament 2003. And I'm not gonna spend a dime on either right now. because I'm sticking to my budget.:)
I'll have two ounces of software, a pint of ideas, and four watts of tech support. Oh, and I have a coupon for a free minute of some user's description of their problem.
Seriously, though, if the price is right, and I think that it meets my needs, then I'll pay. But only if I've got the readies handy, and if I'm sure I'm actually going to get round to using it - a bad habit that I've still not completely broken. As my mother occasionally reminds me.:-)
Honestly, I may be playing the part of a slash head, but I download all my stuff either A) Opensource, or B) Free.
I have yet to find stuff that isn't totally irreplacable by open source programs save for games. Every game I play, I download the demo from the internet, if its worth it, I'll buy it.
but i haven't needed to buy software in years. the only software i've bought in that time is video games, which are so commoditized that I don't consider them software any more than I would consider a box of Cap'n Crunch to be a bag of flour.
