A) YES..but my eyes are bleeding from the games skin. Yuck.

B) Sometimes, every now and then they throw up something interesting.

C) B is correct, but add to it they then duplicate the damned article 3 times.

D) NO....it's a good thing /. catches this stuff.

E) No, Em, but you are irrelevant.

F) those that answer E can lick a Rhesus Monkey scrotum.--signed, Em.

G) GMHowell is a Rhesus Monkey, and he likes his licks.

Poll: YRO section completely irrelevant?

Comments Filter:
  • Yro is irrelevant MOST of the time, and before the games section I didn't know you could make ultraviolet with RGB.
  • Those damned YRO hippies really get my goat.

Dum de dum, lameness filter is lame.
  • It's relevant; I like to read about this stuff, and know what's going on.

But christ, the games section BURNS! And Taco doesn't seem to care about that fact, considering his "Whatever, next" response.

  • nt
    • It appears I have finally arrived.

Let me reflect on my great achievement.....and I'm spent.

Hah. I do believe this just made my day.
  • C and then A, but being better than utter crap doesn't say too many good things.
  • I've changed my homepage to stick YRO in a sidebar, for that reason.
  • Much of it is "I want my free (as in gimme) stuff!" and "I hate the republicans".
It has a fairly low signal to noise ratio, but it does have some signal.

Speaking of which, NCC74656 has an insightfull (or at least incitefull :->) JE. Now, having thrown the molotov cocktail, I will depart. [slashdot.org]
  • It would only be useful if they didn't keep coming up with pseudo-dupes. "Oh look what RIAA/MPAA/Microsoft/SCO is doing now!!!" Same as the last one but a singular arbitrary useless change. YRO should be policed with "Redundant" with extreme prejudice. Too many "Yeah! You are soooo right! Parent post soooooooooo wrong!!! PS: I'm a douche!" Rarely any discussion that is Interesting or Insightful.
  • YRO is inaccurate (Score:3, Insightful)

There's a hell of a lot of things posted in YRO that aren't "online" - they're just general rights issues. If it got changed to just YR it'd be far more accurately named. :-p

Plus, the aforementioned duplicate post issue... bleh. Not like that's restricted to YRO, though.

Oh, and I prefer the Games scheme to the boring motherboard green of the /. homepage... a refreshing change. C'mon, it's not that blinding!
  • With 100% confidence i shall select option A.

I actually set up my preferences to not even see anything from YRO (except as a sidebar). I think the YRO probably wins the "post as much made-up-shit-as-you-can-and-win-karma" as it gets.

  • More and more I see YRO becoming "Person X got caught doing something bad by Organization Y. Organization Y must be evil". Then, when you read the article, you find that yes, person X did something bad, and they deserved to be caught and punished. But too many people seem to think that corporations are evil and the little guy can do no wrong.

That said, I still have YRO on my front page (I have everything up there) 'cause I never know when I'll want to inject some sanity into the conversation.

  • Seriously, I foe more people in YRO than anywhere else. I have a very low tolerance for people who don't see things correctly :)

    • I have a very low tolerance for people who have a very low tolerance for people who don't see things correctly. ;->

If you know the Southpark episode I'm mimicing, you have too much time on your hands.
  • Kinda. It's mostly irrelevant. The important stuff shows up on page one. Too many BS comments by Michael that he isn't man enough to post in a thread proper. Too many bitchslaps for complaining about same. And G... Well, close. It should be clear from the photos that I'm a (mostly) hairless gorilla of some sort.
  • It *used* to be a decent bit of news, but now, its generally flamebait or the likes
