I have been using 1Password for the past few years and since I keep everything local to wither my Mac or iPhone (using WiFi to sync) the only way I'll get hacked is if the attacker is already in my local network and if that's the case I'm already screwed. The data files have a master password that I have to remember, but it's much easier to remember 1 password and not hundreds, especially when different email accounts are also used. Is there a 100% secure system out there for passwords? Yes, but I'm sure a photogenic memory is super uncommon.
This pisses me off. My wife's laptop can't upgrade to 8.1 or 10 because there are a lack of drivers, which makes the upgraded laptop unstable and unusable. I've already wasted two weekends to down grade the OS from 8.1 and 10 back to 8.0. If I have to do this AGAIN because of MSFT, I'm going to get my wife a Mac.
>Do you believe rehabilitation is impossible or do you want revenge?
I don't believe that someone who commits mass murder can be rehabilitated, no. It isn't about revenge; it's about public safety.
Someone once pointed out that hoping a rapist gets raped in prison isn't a victory for his victim(s), because it somehow gives him what he had coming to him, but it's actually a victory for rape and violence. I wish I could remember who said that, because they are right. The score doesn't go Rapist: 1 World: 1. It goes Rape: 2.
What this man did is unspeakable, and he absolutely deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison. If he needs to be kept away from other prisoners as a safety issue, there are ways to do that without keeping him in solitary confinement, which has been shown conclusively to be profoundly cruel and harmful.
Putting him in solitary confinement, as a punitive measure, is not a victory for the good people in the world. It's a victory for inhumane treatment of human beings. This ruling is, in my opinion, very good and very strong for human rights, *precisely* because it was brought by such a despicable and horrible person. It affirms that all of us have basic human rights, even the absolute worst of us on this planet.
This is precisely why I lost all interest in Oculus the instant I heard that it had been acquired by Facebook.
I'm so glad that my wife's labtop, which cannot handle Windows 8.1, let alone, Windows 10, will get nagged 2x daily to install an OS that WILL NOT WORK on the laptop. I've tried. Netowrk drivers, touch screen and touch pad all fail and the lap top maker says it will not support windows 8.1 or Windows 10. This is total BS form M$FT.
Considering that your "homemade independant move" has a projected revenue of Jack and Shit there is a huge difference.
Exactly my point. $=enforcement. Most likely outcome if I call the FBI about my movie? "Sorry, you'll have to call the local police department. They won't do anything either, but hey, it'll get you off the line."
If the police do not procecute ever such offence then the law becomes unenforceable.
Again, exactly my point. Same law, but one crime is important and has victimized 'real live movie stars', and the other is ignored and 'public cable access'.
We shouldn't prosecute any bad guy if the law is not equally enforced across the board.
I haven't posted a journal here in almost three years, because I couldn't find the button to start a new entry.
So... hi, Slashdot. I used to be really active here, but now I mostly lurk and read. I've missed you.
I just don't understand any legitimate concern to decline a breathalyzer test.
How about the fact that the evidence that is used to convict you rejoins the atmosphere, and there is no way for you to independently check the results?
DUI laws and enforcement are stacked in favor of the state, to a ridiculous degree. Even here in MN.
