Submission + - Consumer Encryption for a post post-FISA world?

Dogun writes: With the spiritual death of FISA fast approaching, our communications are less secure than ever. What sort of painless solutions are out there for consumers wishing to have secure, end-to-end encryption of their cellphone, landline, and email conversations? Does the device have a chance of gathering broad market appeal? Is it affordable? Are keys shared and stored in a sensible manner?

To wit, why don't we all have secure communication so easy your grandmother could use it?
