Well, thankfully I don't have a brain tumor to deal with but I've been on the same path for the last 2 years.. only counting carbs. Although, I don't really do it anymore because I know what I'll be eating everyday. It's interesting that you're doctors would suggest such a diet in this cultural environment.

And you really really needs carbs to live. What is your point?

As someone that's lived on a zero-carb diets for months at a time that this is simply not true. The biggest problem with that kind of diet is that it's extremely boring.. and you're not much fun going out with friends for dinner. I consider the paleo diet an extreme one but useful. Most of the time I keep my daily intake of carbs under 15 grams/day... and I feel bad if I hit 30, but it's okay if that happens.

Don't know who the woman in this story is but she sounds like an attention whore begging for as much public sympathy as she can get. Was it a real death threat? I hope she's contacted someone besides the peanut gallery to find out.

Lots Of People Really Want Slideout-Keyboard Phones: Where Are They? 544

Bennett Haselton writes: I can't stand switching from a slideout-keyboard phone to a touchscreen phone, and my own informal online survey found a slight majority of people who prefer slideout keyboards even more than I do. Why will no carrier make them available, at any price, except occasionally as the crummiest low-end phones in the store? Bennett's been asking around, of store managers and users, and arrives at even more perplexing questions. Read on, below.

Apollo 11 Moon Landing Turns 45 211

An anonymous reader writes On July 20, 1969, U.S. astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to walk on the moon. Neil Armstrong would say later he thought the crew had a 90% chance of getting home from the moon, and only a 50% chance of landing safely. The scope of NASA's Apollo program seems staggering today. President Kennedy announced his moon goal just four years into the Space Age, but the United States had not even launched a human into orbit yet. Amazingly, just eight years later, Armstrong and Aldrin were walking on the moon.
