The thing is that even with 36,000 deaths, many of which are multi-car deaths, we are still allowed to drive. With the 13,000 deaths due to abortions, we are still allowed to kill fetuses. With Ischaemic heart disease, strokes, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease being the top 3 causes of death, we are still allowed to eat fries and cheese burgers. Here, if a person gets a vaccine, they are protecting themselves. If a person is not getting a vaccine, they are taking a calculated risk at catching COVID-19 without the extra layer of protection provided by taking a vaccine.

It is said that those who are not getting a vaccine is putting everyone at risk. I would argue that so is every person driving a car, aborting a child, or serving fast food.

With that in mind, why do we put mail in lined envelopes? People do not seem to remember that email is sent plain text. Can be read by anyone. If you do not care who reads it, then why just have one recipient? CC everyone? CC the NSA and CIA? The conversation I share with people is not sensitive, not dangerous, does not contain anything that would cost a person their life. That conversation though, is between the person and myself. I feel uneasy using email due to this reason.

The role of the federal government is NOT to represent the citizens nor get people back to work. Our local government is our representatives. It is our place to get back to work.

To the point of our tax money spent to a foreign company, sure I would rather it spent with companies within our borders, however, our representatives did not put that regulation in the law. People are in such a push for lawmakers to get things done that they chose to forgo getting things right.

Submission + - Muslims demand murder of more bloggers (news.com.au)

An anonymous reader writes: Days after the killing of leftist blogger Thaba Baba, mosques throughout Bangladesh called for a popular uprising to demand the killing of other bloggers who had held a rally calling for the death of Jama'at-e-Islami leaders convicted of war crimes. This happens in an atmosphere of ongoing tension between Left and Right, with the leftist government threatening to outlaw rightist parties while the right uses violence to quiet selected enemies.

Submission + - The Hacker Who Found the Secrets of the Next Xbox and PlayStation (kotaku.com)

An anonymous reader writes: Stephen Totilo at Kotaku has a long article detailing the exploits of an Australian hacker who calls himself SuperDaE. He managed to break into networks at Microsoft, Sony, and Epic Games, from which he retrieved information about the PS4 and next-gen Xbox 'Durango' (which turned out to be correct), and he even secured developer hardware for Durango itself. He uncovered security holes at Epic, but notified the company rather than exploiting them. He claims to have done the same with Microsoft. He hasn't done any damage or facilitated piracy with the access he's had, but simply breaching the security of those companies was enough to get the U.S. FBI to convince Australian authorities to raid his house and confiscate his belongings. In an age where many tech-related 'sources' are just empty claims, a lot of this guy's information has checked out. The article describes both SuperDaE's activities and a journalist's efforts to verify his claims.
