Sounds like a nice soap opera.
Anyway, it's become very obvious that Bush will be hated with an acidic bile here. Fine, Slashdot has gone leftist (most slashdotters will deny it, but they have. They'll scream "But we're libertarians!", but, well, they're not. Sorry, Charley.) I'm still pretty sure Bush will win (and that the GOP will pick up seats in both houses as well). I'm sticking to my 51-47% popular vote win, and a 61-39% electoral college win.
What I really hate about people here, and about Bush-haters in general, is all of the predictions of apocalypse if Bush wins a second term. People are seriously predicting the end of democracy, a nazi-style dictatorship, etc, etc. Look, if Kerry wins, he'll be a putz, but the world wont end. That's the difference between the Bush-supporters and the Bush-haters.
There's some minor country music star (can't remember her name) that said she'd leave the country if Bush won. Well, missy, fuck you and bon voyage. When Clinton was kicking Bush and Dole's asses, you didn't see any conservatives screaming they'd leave the country.
This goes for anybody taking that line: if you're threatening to leave the country if your candidate doesn't win, piss off and good riddance to you. The country is better off without you.

When Clinton was kicking Bush and Dole's asses, you didn't see any conservatives screaming they'd leave the country.
I was living in Texas when "Bubba" first got elected in '92...people were literally screaming for his impeachment only a few weeks into December. No exaggeration.
