Original Subject: Rylee Zora'
I'm very tired so I'll make this brief:
It's a Girl! 8 lbs, 9.6 ozs -- 3:44pm 2/5/04 -- 20 inches
I am open to comments on the spelling of her first name.
Mommy, Baby, and Big Sister are all doing fine.

Spelling alternatives:
Riley - while I like it, it is a fairly common boy's name
Raleigh - still sounds like a boy's name to me - though we looked at Ryleigh - we aren't big on silent letters in kids names as they make it hard for other kid's to spell.
Rylea - I like how this looks, but we're concerned it would get pronounced Ry-Lee-Uh.
Ryley - My wife was leaning toward this but its an uncommon spelling - its still in the running tho.
Rylee - commonest girl's name spelling. I'm a little worried it would be pronounces ryLEE, but also like that it can easily be shortens to just LEE - so far that has been the deciding factor.

Zora - I can see going with Zara as a variation of Zora, but I want the clear association with Nature. Another middle name option is Brooke.
My wife has said she wants to "discuss" the middle name when I get to the hospital this morning. NOTE: she changed our older daughter's middle after I had sent out an announcement email as well.

"Zara" is Russian for "dawn", but "Zora" sounds better.:)

Unfortunately, though, "Raleigh" is usually a boy's name.
"Zara" is also a Semitic variant of "Sarah".
How about "Sarah Raleigh"? Sounds nice to me. Has a nice Colonial rung to it. ;-)

Actually, everything I've read has said Zora is russian/slavic for Aurora/Dawn
Doing another quick Google - Zara can mean dawn/aurora as a variant of Zora.
