Journal Journal: Amusing thought

Amusing thought I had after writing this: https://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=21458008&cid=62590840

1996: FTC has announced that Tandy Corporation is under investigation for incorporating proprietary hardware in their Tandy 1000 line of personal computers. The commission alleges that these computers incorporate non-approved audio and video hardware, and is not compliant with the industry approved standard for personal computers. The point of contention appears to be the 3-voice synthesizer implemented in the hardware and additional color video output modes that are not part of the standard. When contacted for this story, the Tandy spokesman reiterated that the Tandy 1000 is capable of running all of the standard software on the market, and the specific implementation details does not mean that its computers are not compliant with the industry standards. If found in violation, the FTC stated that Tandy may face stiff fines and may be forced to remove the offending products from the market.

Ah, I see. The only way to really get a first post is to post your own journal. Neat feature.
