Don't forget what Snowden revealed. The NSA routinely covers its tracks by salting its code with comments in foreign languages. This might actually be evidence of your tax dollars at work, or not. We'll probably never know for sure unfortunately. That, and AI Slop, are the sad part. We don't know what to believe, only that most of what we see online, or on the mainstream media, is fake.

So you'll need a new machine with a more expensive processor, more memory, burning more electricity, to provide a service that it thinks you need, but that you may or may not need, which might or might not work correctly, using real or hallucinated data, and the next version won't run on the hardware you bought last year, but probably haven't finished paying for yet.

If any company were to come close to a commercial quantum computer, the government would appropriate it while trashing it publicly. The would want a monopoly on reading everyone else's encrypted data.

But why in God's name did the foundation need 2,500 of them just to spend Billykins money ? Its investment portfolio is presumably just one stock. Doesn't take a whole department to manage one stock. They don't need R&D, design, production, quality control, warehousing, sales, marketing, customer service, accounts receivable, or accounts payable. They all must be lobbyists, and HR of course to pay them, and lawyers, lots and lots of lawyers.

All that is needed is for some public minded individual with a bit of tech savvy, to hack into the " Piracy Shield, an unsupervised electronic portal" that the "unidentified set of Italian media companies can submit websites and IP addresses". Then they can publish their method, and then submit all the websites of the Italian government and their agencies. We'll soon see how the government likes what is sure to happen to innocent Italian companies.

Does this mean that if AI generated work " untouched by human hands " can't be copyrighted, than an AI generated work, similarly untouched can't infringe on a copyrighted work ?

Or, maybe, some of them will realize that they don't really need a new phone every year.

Simple solution. Simplify the tax code. Pretty soon the IRS is overstaffed again, their old systems are more than enough to handle the reduced load, and tax payers are happy too :-)

If airlines can eliminate the top 10% of their passengers, they won't see any savings in fuel. That's because they'll just make the seats 10% smaller and then cram in 10% more paying passengers. That may increase their overall profit as those extra paying passengers will more than offset the cost of the extra fuel. Eventually only midgets and children will be able to afford to fly. OK, maybe I'm taking it a bit too far.
