Comment Humans vs. Dinosaurs (Score 5, Insightful) 39

Dinosaurs lived for 165 millionsish years. It took an asteroid to wipe them out. (non-avian of course)

Humans have been around for 100k, maybe a million or two depending on where you want to throw the dart.

Feels like humans will wipe out humans before an asteroid hits.

Its gross how these folks discuss AI in human terms. AI is not human, never has been, doesn't deserve the anthropomorphism.

AI is broken. AI is only here to replace people. AI is not the answer.

I don’t want to really scare you, but it was alarming how many people I talked to who are highly placed people in AI who have retreats that are sort of ‘bug out’ houses, to which they could flee if it all hits the fan. - James Barrat

No doubt the statement they made wasn't a lie, but they omitted a large chunk of the story.

A bit of python and some Airtags and you've got a map of your trains. You could even spend $30 per train and know where the front and back were.

Yes! Life came from micro-lightning! I'm positive, and I have proof too!

According to most estimates, the dark web is significantly smaller than the entire internet, representing only a tiny fraction, with the "deep web" (which includes the dark web) holding around 7,500 terabytes of data compared to the surface web's 19 terabytes, meaning the dark web is likely less than 1% of the total internet size in terms of data storage

TL;DR: In the same sentence, the AI says the Dark Web is 7,500 Terabytes, but is less than 1% of 19 terabytes.
