Comment More or a process problem than a tool problem (Score 1) 189

You write that you use Scrum with a kanban board, and a single list of bugs. How do you manage the list?

I don't think the problem here is necessarily the tools, but might be the process. Do you ever groom the backlog/bug list? How do you prioritise your bugs? You may wish to look a bit on the team culture and think carefully about how you are dealing with older tickets.

It also sounds like you are building up a debt of bugs, which isn't necessarily the end of the world, but you may want to ensure that you triage and process the bugs in some form.

CCP To Discontinue EVE Online Support For Linux 299

maotx writes "CCP's recent support for EVE Online in Linux is now set to be discontinued this March. Released last November along with the Mac OS X client, it has failed to share the expected continual growth as seen with Mac client. Feedback on the EVE Online forums, which includes the e-mail in which CCP announced this decision, suggest that the client was not preferred for Linux users as it did not support the Premium graphics client and did not run as well as the win32 client under Wine. For those who wish to stop playing EVE Online, CCP is offering a refund towards unused game time. Select quote from the e-mail: 'The feedback and commitment we obtained from players like you helped both CCP and Transgaming with our attempts to improve on the quality and stability of the client. Many of us in CCP use Linux and are convinced of its merits as an operating system.'"

Software Holds Cell Phone Calls While Driving 452

An anonymous reader writes "Canadian company Aegis Mobility has developed software that detects if a cell phone is moving at 'car' speeds. If so, the software, DriveAssistT, will alert the cellular network, telling it to hold calls and text messages until the drive is over. Calls are not blocked entirely; callers will be notified that the person appears to be driving, but they can still leave an emergency voice mail, which will be sent through immediately."

That solution has worked so well that few feel the need to use IPv6.

I wonder what will happen to force the issue?
The non US part of the world runs out of addresses and migrates to ipv6. The US will realize they've fallen behind and try to catch up.
According to this study at CAIDA, the US got 62% of the ipv4 addresses. According to a talk I heard a while ago, organized by the WLUG, the rest of the world, especially asia, is slowly adopting ipv6.
