Journal Alioth's Journal: More bad news 5

Barely 4 months after my friend Michael was killed by a driver who failed to stop, another friend of mine has been killed by a driver who failed to yield the right of way. He was 2 minutes from home and an MPV (minivan) pulled out on him, and he died on impact.

My friend Jonathon was only 20.

I just can't believe it. His father is crushed by this, they were so close. They were only over at ours last weekend.

I just can't believe it.

Please, if you drive a car, remember this. Look twice, three times - whatever, just look real hard before moving off from a junction.

  • Dylan,

I am so sorry to hear this. That is far too early to leave and his family must be hurting so badly.

Drivers of cars just do not look and I see the carelessness of others almost daily riding back and forth to work. So, I will add my voice to the chorus... Please, please, please take the time to look for others when driving.

  • That is far to young to be taken. My condolences to you and his family.
  • Losing a friend is always difficult - but it's worse when they're young and had their whole lives in front of them. I'm sorry. :(
  • But, please accept my condolences. As others have commented, far to early for a life to be ended; especially due to avoidable carelessness.
  • That happened to me once.
I was about to go through an intersection.
I looked and saw a car going through the red light, fairly fast too.
    Luckily I looked first.
I always look to make sure the cars are slowing enough before I go.
