It's apparently "all a conspiracy, man"
He says it's too incomplete to be regarded as fact and that many associations and fossils in the record are purely made up or pseudoscience. Basically, take Coast to Coast AM callers and exchange Aliens for God.
I worked as a programmer for the state here in VA. The only person I've ever met who actually argued that evolution is a lie was a supervisor of mine there. Between explaining VERY basic shell commands to this poor idiot (ex: "Hey do you know the command to list files in a folder?") he would argue that evolution isn't real because the fossil record is a lie. The weirdest thing about his argument though, was that he apparently believes in natural selection and adaptation but does not believe it happens on such a large scale as evolution.
This is not true. As a former military member, we are NOT more exempt from background checks. The only difference between former mil/cop and a civ is that in a very few states, we can get our concealed carry license without taking the gun safety class because we were already well trained in gun safety in boot camp/qualification inspections/classes that were required for our jobs. We are not just handed a CC license though, we still have to show our DD-214 and prove a clean service record and go through background checks even in the states that exempt us from the gun safety class. Also, when purchasing weapons, we still go through the same process as a civilian.
The article says he left to get a manager, it says nothing about going to his car to get his gun.
This is incorrect. The doctored recordings said "he looks black etc." The real recording said "There's a suspicious person out here. He looks to be on drugs." Then the Dispatcher asks "is he white, black or Hispanic?" And Zimmerman answers "He looks black"
USPS is involved because, if you read TFS, they were giving special handling treatment to Netflix DVDs during sorting for no extra charge while GameFly wasn't given such treatment and therefore had to pay for special packaging to avoid breakage.
The Doctor has mentioned in several episodes now that he had kids back on Gallifrey.
Because then Torchwood would have to end. Capt. Jack can't be a companion again with where Torchwood is headed.
LastPass does exactly this.
The owner and operator of a well-known “real gore” website is charged with corrupting morals for posting a video allegedly depicting the murder of student Jun Lin by Luka Magnotta.
Magnotta, 30, is currently in custody charged with first-degree murder in the death of the 33-year-old Chinese international student, who was killed in Montreal in May 2012. The victim’s severed limbs were then mailed to political parties and elementary schools, and his torso found inside a discarded suitcase.
A news interview with the detective in charge of the case, airing on CTV as I type this, says he believes the web site hosts a lot of racist content and unimaginable violence. You should note that Canada has less free speech than in America (we have 'hate crime laws'), but there will likely be some arguments in this vein. The charge against the operator is quite rare and no-one so far remembers it ever being used before.
First thought after reading this was Doctor Who:
1. Rise of the Cybermen and Age of Steel
2. The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords
Actually, this brings up a good question. What about people who choose to wear those (ridiculous) coloured contact lenses? Will they have to take out the lenses every time they want to enter a building?
AC posts! Stranger Danger!
In all seriousness though, I do entirely agree with this comment. The widespread education via parents, schools, even advertisements warning of these things just doesn't seem to exist anymore. Seeing how with the internet and other tech advances, these dangers have only grown, it seems odd that we are no longer teaching the children how to recognize and avoid these situations.
But what is the legal definition of "obscene"?
