Your "whats" aren't metadata, those are data. The metadata would be just the URL of the site you visited. Of course with the the web your metadata often contains data so it's hard to separate the two, but this whole metadata thing was about phone records anyway, so the point is moot.
So call it something else, say "automated human conveyor", if you prefer. Who really cares what they're called if they're better than what we have now.

Actually I do know how to read and write a fair bit of Chinese hanzi.

Unfortunately it's not about habits and beliefs, it's about game theory. Voting against who you don't want is the optimal use of a vote in our system as it exists today. We need to change our system so that voters actually benefit from voting for who they like.

It's not that brilliant, it's been well known for ages. How to make a good, fair voting system is a solved problem. Getting governments to implement it is the difficult bit.

The apps are disabled and can not be run when you hide them. I wish they could be removed entirely, but the ability to hide the apps works very well still.
